Curriculum Reform of Medical Informatics for Medical Undergraduates

Abstract: Based on the suggestions of International Medical Informatics Association (IMIA) for non-medical informatics students, this paper further specify the contents and implementation methods of Medical Informatics for undergraduate students in medical colleges. It is divided into three modules which are Orientation, Technical Support, and Career Objective, with six chapters: medical informatics foundation, medical information retrieval and utilization, common classification standard of medical informatics, clinical electronic medical records, common health information system, and the frontier and hot spots of medical informatics. The curriculum uses MOOC website to provide personalized online and offline mixed teaching, in order to effectively improve the information literacy of medical undergraduates, and cultivate interdisciplinary talents in biomedical science and medical informatics.
