Abstract: As a foundational course in the pharmacy curriculum, Molecular Pharmacology plays a crucial role in delivering essential disciplinary knowledge, such as the interaction and mechanism between drugs and specific molecular targets (receptors, ion channels, enzymes, and transport proteins). It also offers significant opportunities for integrating ideological and political education. The seamless incorporation of ideological and political elements into subject-specific instruction not only enhances the pedagogical effectiveness of the course but also promotes the development of interdisciplinary professionals who are committed to national scientific progress and possess a heightened sense of social responsibility. Drawing upon a comprehensive analysis of the course’s current status and existing challenges, and guided by the principles of curriculum-based ideological and political education, this study proposes integrative strategies across three key dimensions: instructional content, teaching methodologies, and assessment systems. Furthermore, it establishes an educational framework that aligns “knowledge,” “competency,” and “values” to support the holistic cultivation of talent. This model provides a practical reference for advancing ideological and political education within pharmaceutical science curricula.
