Abstract: Inflammation-cancer transformation is a key mechanism in the development of gastric cancer. The persistent presence of an inflammatory microenvironment drives tumorigenesis, for which Western medicine currently lacks effective interventions. Integrating the theory of Where there is lingering masses, there must be latent Yang with modern medical research, this paper posits that Latent Yang serves as the pathogenic foundation of gastric inflammation-cancer transformation. It leads to the production and aggregation of various pathological factors such as Qi stagnation, dampness, phlegm, blood stasis, and toxins, resulting in the sustained inflammatory microenvironment that eventually evolves into a tumor microenvironment, manifesting as lingering masses. Therefore, treatment should focus on Latent Yang, employing core methods such as clearing Yang, diffusing Yang, seeking Yang within Yin, and warming Yang, tailored through syndrome differentiation. The aim is to eliminate pathological Latent Yang while strengthening physiological Yang Qi, thereby providing new insights for preventing and treating gastric inflammation-cancer transformation.
