Abstract: Lung cancer is a malignant tumor originating from the bronchial mucosa or gland of the lung, and most of which is non small cell lung cancer. Its incidence rate and case fatality rate are among the top in China. Circulating tumor cells (CTC) are tumor cells that exist in the blood circulation system and have been confirmed to have abnormal expression in breast cancer, prostate cancer, colorectal cancer and other malignant tumors. Folate receptor (FR) was first found to be highly expressed on the surface of ovarian and renal cancer cells, but generally not expressed in normal human blood cells, making it an ideal target for detecting CTCs in peripheral blood of tumor patients. In recent years, numerous studies have found that FR positive CTCs are directly or indirectly involved in the pathological and physiological processes of non-small cell lung cancer, and are closely related to the occurrence and development of non-small cell lung cancer. The author summarizes the research progress on the relationship and mechanism between FR positive CTCs and non small cell lung cancer based on existing reports, providing new ideas for clinical diagnosis and treatment of non-small cell lung cancer.
