Research progress of neuroinflammatory response and postoperative delirium in patients

  Abstract: 【】:Postoperative Delirium (POD) is an acute onset of cognitive dysfunction, mainly manifested by memory loss, disorientation and impairment of consciousness, and can even increase the risk of death. POD resulted in a series of adverse consequences such as prolonged hospital stay, increased hospital costs, and increased complications. Neuroinflammatory response is closely related to the occurrence of POD, which induces cerebral cognitive dysfunction by mediating a series of pathological processes such as microglia activation and synaptic remodeling. Therefore, this article reviews the relationship between neuroinflammatory response and POD occurrence, in order to provide reference for the research and prevention of POD.
