Study of dexmedetomidine on intestinal barrier protection in hypertensive patients

  Abstract: Dexmedetomidine is a highly selective alpha-adrenergic receptor agonist drug that acts as a sedative and hypnotic agent by inducing presynaptic and postsynaptic alpha2 receptors in excitatory blocks of the blue-spot tissue, thereby inducing a state of unconsciousness similar to natural sleep. Since alpha receptors are widely present in many organs of the body, dexmedetomidine plays a protective role in almost every vital organ in the body. This article focuses on its protective effect on the intestinal barrier in hypertensive patients.
