Abstract: Objective: To improve clinical understanding of primary rectal melanoma and summarize its treatment methods. Method: Retrospective analysis was conducted on the clinical data of a patient with primary melanoma of the rectum admitted to our hospital, and clinical diagnosis and treatment experience was summarized based on relevant reports on melanoma in China. The clinical manifestations of primary melanoma lack specificity, and preoperative diagnosis is relatively difficult, mainly relying on pathological methods. Moreover, its treatment is mainly surgical, and after the radical resection of rectal melanoma, a permanent stoma is often required. During the stoma process, there are often cases of peristomal hernia and intestinal leakage. Summary: The diagnosis of primary rectal melanoma is difficult, requires permanent stoma after surgery, and often accompanies the occurrence of hernia near the stoma. Therefore, post care is of great significance for prolonging life and providing quality of life.
