Abstract: Abstract Objective: To explore the effect of diversified management led by anesthesia nursing team in the management of elderly patients in the recovery period after general anesthesia. Methods: Using a random number table method, 106 elderly patients (aged ≥65 years) who underwent elective surgery in The First Affiliated Hospital of Xiamen University from October 2023 to October 2024 were divided into a control group (n=53) and a diversified management group (n=53). The control group received routine intervention during the recovery period after general anesthesia, while the diversified management group received diversified management implemented by the anesthesia nursing team on the basis of routine intervention. The two groups were compared regarding: ① postoperative recovery (including anesthesia recovery time, extubation time, and PACU discharge time); ② cognitive function (assessed by MMSE); ③ degree of agitation (evaluated by RASS); and ④ occurrence of complications during recovery. Results: The anesthesia recovery time, extubation time and PACU time in the multiple management group were significantly shorter than those in the control group (P<0.05). MMSE score in the multiple management group was significantly higher than that in the control group when leaving PACU after operation (P<0.05), and RASS score in the recovery period was significantly lower than that in the control group (P<0.05). The incidence of single complications such as disturbance of consciousness and hypotension in the multiple management group was lower than that in the control group (P>0.05), but the total incidence (11.32%) was significantly lower than that in the control group (30.18%), the difference was statistically significant (P<0.05)..Conclusion: The application of diversified management led by anesthesia nursing team in the recovery period of elderly patients after general anesthesia can significantly shorten the anesthesia recovery time, extubation time and the time to leave PACU, effectively improve the cognitive function in the recovery period, reduce the degree of agitation, and reduce the risk of postoperative complications.
