Abstract: The pathogenesis of menopausal syndrome is relatively complex. Most ancient physicians believed that the essence of this condition lies in liver and kidney yin deficiency, often accompanied by liver stagnation, phlegm and blood stasis interlocking, and involving the heart, liver, spleen, and kidneys. Ye Tianshi proposed that the liver serves as the innate organ for women, emphasizing the livers yin body and yang function theory from a holistic organ perspective. He stressed that treating the livers body should avoid rigidity and favor gentleness, while treating its function should prioritize dispersion and elimination, establishing the treatment principle of spicy herbs to nourish the body, sour herbs to regulate function, and sweet herbs to moderate urgency, aiming for simultaneous treatment of both symptoms and root causes. Based on the livers yin body and yang function theory, this paper delves into the pathogenic characteristics of menopausal syndrome under the framework of livers yin body and yang function. By integrating Ye Tianshis unique insights on medication from his medical cases, it proposes an innovative approach to the diagnosis and treatment of menopausal syndrome: maintaining dynamic balance in the livers body and function, regulating both body and function, and addressing multiple organs simultaneously. This aims to provide clinicians with new perspectives, approaches, and research methods.
