Abstract: 【】As a prominent global public health challenge, simple obesity is witnessing a gradual increase in incidence across the world. It seriously impairs patients quality of life and continuously imposes heavy economic burdens on society and healthcare systems. Therefore, exploring safe and effective intervention strategies has become an urgent and important task. The pathogenesis of simple obesity is complex, and gut microbiota dysbiosis has been identified as one of the core pathological links. Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM), featuring holistic regulation and treatment based on syndrome differentiation, exhibits unique advantages in restoring gut microbiota balance and ameliorating metabolic disorders. This paper systematically reviews the research progress of TCM in intervening simple obesity by regulating gut microbiota, providing a reference for clinical prevention and treatment, and exploring the material basis and mechanistic research ideas of TCM syndrome differentiation and treatment for simple obesity.
