Abstract: Although andrological disorders such as premature ejaculation, erectile dysfunction, nocturnal emission, and chronic prostatitis exhibit distinct clinical manifestations, their pathogenesis is closely linked to dysfunction of the Shaoyang pivot mechanism based on traditional Chinese medicine (TCM) theory. This aligns with the diagnostic and therapeutic concept of same treatment for different diseases. Chaihu Jia Longgu Muli Decoction (Bupleurum plus Dragon Bone and Oyster Shell Decoction), originating from Shanghan Lun (Treatise on Cold Damage Diseases), specializes in harmonizing Shaoyang, unblocking the triple energizer, and calming the mind. It has been widely applied in clinical practice for various diseases, demonstrating remarkable compatibility between prescription and syndrome, thereby embodying the TCM principle of same treatment for different diseases. This article explores the scientific essence of the same treatment for different diseases concept through modern pharmacological research and TCM etiology-pathogenesis analysis. By integrating the holistic concept and syndrome differentiation and treatment with the same treatment for different diseases approach, we investigate the feasibility of modified Chaihu Jia Longgu Muli Decoction in treating andrological disorders, aiming to provide novel insights for clinical practice.
