Abstract: The therapeutic effect of the fire needle warming and unblocking method in treating knee arthralgia is definite. Its function can be summarized into two aspects: breaking and establishing. It works through the dual mechanism of eliminating the old pathological state and establishing a new physiological steady state. Its therapeutic effect is closely related to the layer where the fire needle is applied. The five body parts - skin, vessels, flesh, tendons, and bones - are the basic areas for external treatment methods including fire needle therapy. They are not only about the difference in depth but also the expression of different tissue layers. Based on the theory of the five bodies, this article systematically expounds the connotation of the five-body pathological changes in knee arthralgia. By combining the five-pronged needling technique, it discusses the targeted levels, needle selection, temperature control, and frequency of application in fire needle therapy, providing a basis for precise clinical treatment.
