  Abstract: Myasthenia gravis(MG) is an autoimmune disease that primarily involves muscle weakness of the skeletal muscles (diaphragm, extraocular muscles) and myasthenic crises. MG is B cell-mediated and is associated with antibodies in the postsynaptic membrane of the neuromuscular junction against acetylcholine receptor(AChR),muscle-specific kinase(MuSK), lipoprotein-associated protein 4(LRP4),or agrin. Treatment options for MG management have expanded to include corticosteroids(GC), azathioprine(AZAZ), plasma exchange, etc. Unfortunately, a small number of MG cases do not respond to conventional treatment modalities. Tacrolimus(FK-506), a widely used immunosuppressant in recent years, has recently attracted interest due to its efficacy in the MG patient population.The purpose of this review was to demonstrate the efficacy of FK-506 monotherapy for MG and the factors that influence efficacy, using a limited review of databases including PubMed and Google Scholar.
