Abstract: Colorectal cancer (CRC) is a kind of digestive tract tumor characterized by malignant proliferation of intestinal mucosa, with insidious symptoms in the early stage and abdominal pain, blood in stool, intestinal obstruction and metastasis-related symptoms in the late stage, with poor prognosis. Ferroptosis and colorectal cancer are closely related. Iron death is an iron-dependent mode of cell death that can be achieved through the iron metabolism pathway, lipid metabolism pathway, and amino acid metabolism pathway for bidirectional regulation of colorectal cancer cells. This paper integrates the theory of health and evil all originate from yin and yang ShengQiTongTianLun of Suwen with the mechanism of ferroptosis, and explains that ferroptosis can not only induce the death of cancer cells and gather healthy Qi, but also promote the malignant transformation of normal cells and generate evil Qi, and the mechanism of its bidirectional regulation of diseases has a common law with that of yin and yang in the theory of yin and yang in which yin and yang are opposing - transforming - and growing. Its two-way regulation mechanism on diseases has a common law with the Yin-Yang theory of yin-yang opposition-transformation-dissipation. Based on the theory of health and evil all originate from yin and yang ferroptosis in the development and treatment of colorectal cancer, and then puts forward the traditional Chinese medicine (TCM) therapeutic method of supporting healthy Qi, leveling hyperactivity of yang, and breaking yin condensation, which is expected to provide TCM theoretical support for the modern study of CRC, and to provide new ideas for the research and treatment of colorectal cancer.
