Abstract: Bronchial asthma is a common chronic respiratory disease associated with immune dysregulation. Recent studies have confirmed that bile acid metabolism plays a significant role in the pathogenesis and progression of asthma. There exists a bidirectional regulatory relationship between bile acids and gut microbiota, suggesting that investigating bile acid metabolism from the perspectives of intestinal microbiota and immune regulation holds broad prospects for understanding its role in bronchial asthma. This also provides insights into new targets and approaches for anti-asthma therapy. This review summarizes the role of bile acids in the identification of biomarkers for bronchial asthma, their interaction with gut microbiota, and their regulatory mechanisms in immune responses.
