Abstract: Hepatocellular carcinoma is a prevalent malignant tumor with high morbidity and mortality.Current therapeutic outcomes for liver cancer are far from ideal.Emerging evidence highlights the critical role of gut microbiota and bile acid interactions in liver cancer progression through specific signaling pathways.Traditional Chinese medicine theory identifies “liver depression and spleen deficiency ”as the key pathogenic mechanisms of liver cancer, with disorders of intestinal flora and abnormal bile acid metabolism as microcosmic reflections. This review integrates Traditional Chinese medicine principles with clinical research to elucidate the gut microbiota-bile acid axis in liver cancer, offering effective strategies for its clinical management.
