Abstract: Objective: To explore the theoretical basis and therapeutic methods for the treatment of knee osteoarthritis from the Yangming system.Methods: The internal correlation between the modern medical mechanism of the gut-joint axis and the traditional Chinese medicine Yangming system was analyzed, and the etiology, pathogenesis and treatment principles of knee osteoarthritis from the perspective of the Yangming system were demonstrated.Results: In the gut-joint axis, intestinal flora and its metabolites affect joint health by regulating inflammation, immunity and bone metabolism. The Yangming system of traditional Chinese medicine takes the spleen, stomach and intestinal tract as the core, governing the production and distribution of qi and blood; its dysfunction leads to the occurrence of knee osteoarthritis. The two are highly consistent.Conclusion: Combined with the mechanism of the gut-joint axis, a new idea for the treatment of knee osteoarthritis from the Yangming system is proposed.
