Observation of Atractylodes and Shengdihuang granules in treating constipation-type Irritable Bowel Syndrome with anxiety state

    Abstract: Abstract:By observing the effects of Atractylodes and Shengdihuang granules in the treatment of constipation-predominant irritable bowel syndrome(IBS-C)and anxiety disorders,and to integrate an effective treatment plan based on traditional Chinese medicine.Methods:Eighty-six patients diagnosed with IBS-C and anxiety disorders were randomly divided into an observation group and a control group.Both groups received oral flupentixol-melitracen tablets,with the observation group additionally taking oral Atractylodes and Shengdihuang granules,while the control group received oral lactulose solution.Symptomatic outcomes,Zung anxiety scale scores,and changes in blood indicators before and after treatment were recorded,and the treatment effects and frequency of side effects were compared between the two groups.Results:After treatment,both groups showed significant changes in anxiety,anxiety scale scores,5-HT,MOT and VIP indicators compared with before treatment,but no significant differences were observed between the groups.Indicating that the observation group has clinical efficacy comparable to the control group.Conclusion:Atractylodes and Shengdihuang granules are safe and effective in treating constipation-predominant irritable bowel syndrome with anxiety,and are worthy of clinical promotion.
