Abstract: Traditional Chinese medicine has always emphasized the idea of food and medicine sharing the same origin, believing that many foods have dual functions of daily nourishment and disease treatment. Spleen and stomach disorders are often chronic diseases, frequently caused by abnormal transformation and transportation, leading to a mixture of deficiency and excess and a prolonged course of illness. If only drugs are used, it may damage the stomach qi; if only food is used, the effect will be slow. Therefore, using food and medicine of the same origin can avoid the damage to the stomach qi caused by drugs and also take advantage of the power of daily diet to gradually nourish and help the spleen and stomach restore their transformation and transportation functions. Based on the idea of food and medicine sharing the same origin, this article analyzes the feasibility of using food and medicine sharing the same origin type of traditional Chinese medicine in the diagnosis and treatment of spleen and stomach disorders. From precise diagnosis and treatment with targeted medication, dynamic nourishment based on the principle of adapting to the three causes, to post-recovery nourishment to consolidate the therapeutic effect, it elaborates on the application characteristics of food and medicine sharing the same origin in the diagnosis and treatment of spleen and stomach disorders. This helps to deepen the application of the food and medicine sharing the same origin theory in spleen and stomach disorders and also provides a reference for the prevention and treatment of chronic diseases and health preservation practices.
