Abstract: Tic disorders (TD) has become one of the neuropsychiatric disorders that seriously affect the development of childrens physical and mental health, and the incidence rate is still growing rapidly. Traditional Chinese medicine fully utilizes its unique theoretical and rich clinical experience advantages to improve symptoms and restore mental health in TD patients, while also improving treatment safety and efficacy. The article mainly summarizes the understanding of the etiology and pathogenesis of traditional Chinese medicine treatment for children with TD in recent years, as well as the research on basic syndrome types. It focuses on the review of internal treatment methods, external treatment methods, comprehensive treatment methods, as well as psychological therapy and life management, in order to provide a basis for the basic research and clinical selection of traditional Chinese medicine treatment for TD.
