Abstract: Chronic heart failure (CHF) represents the end stage of cardiovascular diseases, with qi deficiency and blood stasis serving as its core pathological mechanism. As a clinically empirical formula, Astragalus and Salvia Decoction has shown favorable therapeutic effects in treating CHF characterized by qi deficiency and blood stasis, though systematic clinical studies are still lacking. Centering on the method of reinforcing qi and activating blood, and incorporating modern pharmacological research on single herbs such as Astragalus and Salvia, this paper explores how the formula may exert its therapeutic effects through multiple pathways. These include inhibiting myocardial fibrosis, improving energy metabolism, exerting anti-inflammatory and immunomodulatory actions, alleviating oxidative stress, regulating neuroendocrine function, and enhancing gastrointestinal function. The findings provide a theoretical basis for clinical application and further in-depth research.
