Visualization of asthma treatment with Chinese medicine based on CiteSpace and VOSviewer

• 摘要：目的 探究中医药治疗哮喘的国内外研究现状、热点和趋势。方法 检索Web of science核心数据库、中国知识资源总库(CNKI)2014年1月1日至2025年3月19日收录的中医药治疗哮喘的相关文献,运用CiteSpace( 6.1.R3)和VOSviewer (1.6.18)软件对作者、机构、关键词、期刊等进行可视化分析。结果 共纳入中文文献1615篇,英文文献491篇,年发文量整体较为稳定,形成了以赵霞、李泽庚、董竞成为代表的核心团队；中、英文文献研究机构分别以南京中医药大学和北京中医药大学为主；中、英文文献的关键词分析显示中医药治疗哮喘研究主要集中在作用机制、临床观察和治疗等方面,其中作用机制方面的研究重点为、气道重塑、炎症因子、氧化应激等,穴位敷贴、膏方、针刺等外治法和中药内服结合为中医药治疗哮喘方面的重点。结论 目前,该领域的国内外研究重点是中药提取有效化学成分对哮喘的治疗机制与效果,该研究广泛丰富,但未来仍需开展更多深入的临床和基础研究,为中医药治疗哮喘提供更可靠的研究证据,并逐步阐明哮喘的发病内在机制及有效治疗途径。

  Abstract: Objective To investigate the global research landscape and emerging trends in traditional Chinese medicine (TCM) for asthma management. Methods We systematically retrieved relevant publications from the Web of Science Core Collection and China National Knowledge Infrastructure (CNKI) databases (January 2014-March 2025). Bibliometric analysis using CiteSpace 6.1.R3 and VOSviewer 1.6.18 mapped collaboration networks and research hotspots across authors, institutions, and keywords.Results A total of 1,615 pieces of Chinese literature and 491 pieces of English literature were included. The annual publication volume is relatively stable.A core team represented by Zhao Xia, Li Zegeng, and Dong Jiecheng has been formed. The research institutions for Chinese and English literature are based at the University of Traditional Chinese Medicine in Nanjing and Beijing, respectively. Keyword analysis of Chinese and English literature shows that TCM treatment for asthma mainly focuses on the mechanism of action, clinical observation, and treatment. The research focuses on the mechanism of action, clinical observation, and treatment. The mechanism of action focuses on airway remodeling, inflammatory factors, and oxidative stress. The combination of external treatments, such as acupoints, poultices, and acupuncture, and internal Chinese medicines is key to treating asthma with traditional Chinese medicine.Conclusion Contemporary research prioritizes bioactive component extraction and mechanism elucidation. While existing studies demonstrate methodological diversity, advancing TCM evidence requires multicenter clinical validation and molecular-level mechanistic investigations.
