Abstract: Under the background of the in-depth advancement of the Healthy China strategy, as the basic unit of health education, how to activate the health education function of the family has become an important issue in current health governance. From the perspective of empowerment theory, this article sorts out the basic logic of health education carried out by families through case studies, systematically analyzes the functional positioning of the empowerment subjects (dominant type, executive type, and supplementary type), and reveals how these empowerment subjects support and promote the implementation of family health education through formal and informal empowerment methods. And explore the empowerment mechanism of family health education from empowerment conditions - empowerment process - empowerment results, and deeply analyze the influence of the combination mode of empowerment subjects on the empowerment mechanism. The research suggests that at the institutional level, a collaborative mechanism among three types of empowerment subjects should be established. At the practical level, it is necessary to ensure the implementation of empowerment, stimulate the initiative within families, and promote an optimized path for the precise matching of health education content with the differentiated needs of families. The research provides new perspectives and strategies for health education at the family level, which is of great theoretical and practical significance for promoting the practice of health education.
