Abstract: Objective To understand the epidemiological characteristics of mumps in Qinghai Province from 2013 to 2022, and to provide a scientific basis for the development of prevention and control strategies. Methods The mumps cases reported in the Infectious Disease Reporting Information Management System of Qinghai Province from 2013 to 2022 were collected and analysed by descriptive epidemiological methods. Results The average annual incidence rate of mumps in Qinghai Province was 25.98/100,000, showing a 4-year incidence cycle, with no linear trend in incidence (?2 trend=1.27, P=0.26); the seasonal distribution showed bimodal fluctuations, from April to July and from October to January of the following year, respectively. The highest incidence rate was in Xining City (33.16/100,000), and the highest number of cases was in Republican Road, Chengdong District, Xining City, where the outbreaks were mainly concentrated in the population aged 3 to <15 years, and the incidence rate was higher in the birth cohort of 2006
