Abstract: The rapid advancement of artificial intelligence (AI) has transformed the information management and service models of medical libraries. This paper reviews the current applications of AI in intelligent literature recommendation, automated classification, and indexing, and explores its unique role in service innovation within medical libraries. It also speculates on the potentially disruptive impacts of future AI technologies. By combining case studies and preliminary quantitative assessments, this paper examines the practical effects of AI technology and reveals challenges such as high costs and data privacy. AI technology offers vast potential for innovation in the future development of medical libraries, especially in the fields of precision medicine and intelligent search. Medical libraries urgently need to integrate technology more deeply, strengthen the cultivation of interdisciplinary talents, and break through bottlenecks in technology implementation to further stimulate the vitality of service innovation.
