Research progress on the pathway of aminoglycoside drugs entering hair cells

  Abstract: Aminoglycoside antibiotics, as commonly used broad-spectrum antibiotics in clinical practice, sometimes have irreversible side effects, and some patients receiving treatment with aminoglycoside antibiotics may experience varying degrees of permanent hearing loss. Aminoglycoside drugs have a long half-life in hair cells, making it difficult to prevent their effects. The study of the process of aminoglycoside drugs entering hair cells can help to provide protection before aminoglycoside drugs act on hair cells. This article reviews the various pathways and possible influencing factors of aminoglycoside drugs entering hair cells.
