Study on the Incentive Mechanism of Specialist Physicians from County Hospitals for Supporting Primary Health Care Institutions within the County Medical Community

  Abstract: In order to investigate the incentive mechanism of county-level hospital specialists outreach within the county medical community and to improve the performance of specialists outreach, based on the Kanfer’ work motivation theory and (Existence-Relatedness-Growth, ERG) theory, this study applied the grounded theory to coding the interview data of 54 key informants at three levels, identifying 349 labels, 36 initial categories, 10 main categories, and 4 core categories, including external environment factor, incentive factors, interpersonal factors and job performance. Therefore, the study constructed a incentive mechanism of county-level hospital specialists outreach that controlling for the influence of the external policy environment, the incentive factors can directly promote the performance of specialist outreach and also indirectly influence it by influencing interpersonal factors.
