Research on the Construction of Electronic Health Record Data Quality Assessment Index System

  Abstract: Objective To establish a data quality assessment index (DQAI) system for Electronic Health Record (EHR) data systematically, and conduct a comprehensive evaluation. Methods Literature review of relevant papers was carried out by using the Critical Appraisal Skills Programme (CASP) system review checklist. The DQAI system was then constructed by leveraging literature review in combination with experts’ opinions. It was further verified by questionnaire surveys and statistical analysis. Additionally, the DQAI system was comprehensively assessed using an Entropy Weight method and a Fuzzy Comprehensive Evaluation method. Results The DQAI system including 16 indicators was constructed in this study. The comprehensive score of the DQAI system based on the questionnaire result was 90.445 points, and the membership level was very important（the membership score is 62.5%）, indicating that the DQAI system constructed in this study is very important for the evaluation of data quality. Conclusion The construction process of the DQAI system and its comprehensive evaluation in this study meet scientific and systematic principles, which is of great significance for improving the quality of electronic health record data.
