Abstract: Objective: This paper analyzed the current situation of the provision of community-dwelling integrated medical and elderly care in China,in order to provide suggestions for further development. Methods:Using the purposive sampling method,34 institutions with 10 categories in 12 provinces/cities were selected as the field survey sites. The thematic framework method was used to collect and analyze the research data. Results:The community-dwelling medical and elderly care services are provided in a wide variety of content and ways by multiple service providers. Medical care is basically integrated into the elderly care, while the effective supply of home-based medical services is difficult. The integration of services has been enhanced, but further exploration is needed. Multi-sectoral collaboration mechanism for medical and elderly care has not been established, and services are still fragmented. There is still a lack of service standards and guarantee mechanism for community-dwelling integrated medical and elderly care. Conclusions:A collaborative governance mechanism should be established to promote community-dwelling integrated medical and elderly care. The government should develop a unified comprehensive standard system and guarantee policies, improve the compensation and incentive mechanism to give full play to the role of medical institutions at all levels. Localities should explore appropriate operation models of based on their actual conditions.
