Abstract: Tongue diagnosis is an essential part of traditional Chinese medicine observation and plays a pivotal role in clinical syndrome differentiation and treatment. The use of computer technology to study tongue diagnosis can make it more standardized, objective, and quantitative, which is the current research hotspot. This paper first reviews the main steps of computerized tongue diagnosis, then summarizes computer technology in tongue image acquisition, tongue image preprocessing, tongue image localization and segmentation, and tongue image analysis in the last ten years and finally summarizes and prospects computerized tongue diagnosis.
