Abstract: Addressing the pain points of the“Introduction to Intelligent Medical Engineering”course, such as the disconnect between medicine and engineering and weak innovation cultivation, this study explores a path for cultivating interdisciplinary composite talents. A “Three Chains, Dual Integration, and One Innovation” teaching model is constructed, using the coupling of “three chains” (knowledge, ability, and interest) as the foundation and “dual integration”(medicine-engineering and teaching-research) as the pathway. This involves reconstructing a four-layer modular content system, innovating industry-university-research collaborative teaching and four-level progressive practice, and conducting comparative teaching experiments. The experimental class demonstrated significantly higher excellent and good rates alongside enhanced multidimensional abilities (especially in practical innovation and professional awareness) compared to the control class, yielding multiple achievements including national-level student innovation projects, which effectively fed back into major and faculty development. The study indicates that this model achieves the synergistic development of “knowledge, ability, innovation, and literacy,” and the optimization strategies proposed for existing problems provide an effective paradigm for interdisciplinary curriculum reform.
