Abstract: Objective: To explore the clinical characteristics and related risk factors of early-onset colorectal cancer (EOCRC). Method: A retrospective single center case-control study was conducted, including 200 colorectal cancer patients who underwent colonoscopy and were diagnosed in our hospital. The patients were divided into EOCRC group (76 cases) and late-onset colorectal cancer (LOCRC) group (124 cases) according to their age. Compare two sets of clinical data to clarify the clinical characteristics of EOCRC, incorporate statistically significant clinical features into a multivariate logistic regression model, and analyze the risk factors for EOCRC occurrence. Result: Compared with the LOCRC group, the EOCRC group had lower age and later staging, BMI、 The proportion of western diet pattern, irregular work and rest, first symptom constipation, nerve invasion, vascular invasion, smoking history and ulcer type was higher, while the proportion of diabetes history, hypertension history, family history of gastrointestinal tumor and colon polyp was lower (P<0.05); Multivariate logistic regression analysis showed that western diet pattern, high BMI, smoking history and irregular work and rest were the high risk factors for EOCRC (P<0.05), while hypertension, diabetes and colon polyps were the risk factors for LOCRC (P<0.05). Conclusion: EOCRC has clinical characteristics of early onset, late tumor staging, and stronger invasiveness. Its occurrence is closely related to factors such as high BMI, Western dietary patterns, smoking, and irregular sleep patterns.
