Abstract: Cancer-related depression currently lacks specific effective treatments and has complex pathogenesis. Both symptomatic treatment in modern medicine and the conventional Chinese medicine approach of soothing the liver and resolving depression often yield unsatisfactory results. Therefore, breaking through the limitations of static pathogenesis classification is crucial for treatment. This paper- establishes a three-stage dynamic pathogenesis model for cancer-related depression and systematically organizes its correspondence with Zhang Zhongjings classical formulas. In the early stage, “Xiaochaihu Tang” and “Sini San” are used to regulate the pivot mechanism and resolve stagnation. In the middle stage, “Chaihu Jia Longgu Muli Tang” and “Huanglian Ejiao Tang” are employed to clear and tonify simultaneously, harmonizing cold and heat. In the late stage, “Shenqi Wan” is applied to warm yang, replenish essence, and consolidate the spirit mechanism. This aims to provide a dynamic and precise treatment strategy for cancer-related depression in clinical practice, offering new insights for the diagnosis and treatment of this condition.
