Abstract: Degenerative Lumbar Instability (DLI) is a common spinal degenerative disease among the elderly, with an increasing incidence rate in recent years and a trend towards younger patients. It manifests as low back pain and radiating pain in the lower limbs, severely affecting quality of life. In traditional Chinese medicine, it is classified under the category of lumbago, with the core pathological state being muscles out of their groove and bones misaligned, and the basic pathogenesis being deficiency of the liver and kidney, imbalance of qi and blood, and malnutrition of muscles and bones. Based on this, the national medical master Wei Guikang proposed the Weis triple therapy, which adheres to the principle of holistic conditioning and simultaneous adjustment of muscles and bones. Through three steps: muscle conditioning (relaxing muscles and dredging meridians), bone adjustment (precise reduction of joints), and symptomatic treatment (acupoint stimulation and functional training), the therapy corrects pathological states and restores mechanical balance in the lumbar spine. Clinical case studies have confirmed that this therapy can effectively alleviate symptoms and improve lumbar spondylolisthesis, providing a theoretically distinctive and practical solution for the prevention and treatment of DLI, which is worthy of promotion.
