Abstract: Objective To explore the clinical manifestations, diagnostic criteria, imaging manifestations, postoperative pathological features and surgery in the treatment of malignant melanoma of the nasal septum mucosa and to reduce clinical misdiagnosis and leakage. Methods? We retrospectively analyzed the case data of a patient with malignant melanoma of the nasal septum mucosa admitted to the North China University of Science and Technology Affiliated Hospital in August 2024 and summarized the results by analyzing clinical features, imaging manifestations, diagnostic criteria postoperative pathological features and treatment methods, and reviewing the relevant literature. Results? A 66-year-old male patient presented with? nasal obstruction and epistaxis and the imaging manifestations were nonspecific. After surgical excision, the pathological findings confirmed the diagnosis of malignant melanoma of the nasal septum mucosa. Due to its highly aggressive nature, the patient underwent standardized postoperative radiotherapy and chemotherapy with close follow-up. Conclusion? Malignant melanoma of the nasal septum mucosa is a rare diseases with low incidence, lack of typical clinical manifestations and specific imaging features, and mostly cannot be clearly diagnosed preoperatively. Pathological examination is important in the diagnosis of the disease, and surgical intervention combined with radiotherapy and chemotherapy serves as an effective therapeutic approach for this condition.
