Abstract: As one of the most common underlying diseases in the nervous system in clinical practice, neuropathic pain caused by herpes zoster mainly originates from damage to the nervous system by the latent herpes virus. Based on this principle, there is currently no specific drug treatment for the symptoms of herpes zoster in clinical practice, and traditional vaccination remains the primary proactive measure to prevent herpes virus infection. Epidemiological surveys have found that with the recent emergence of various new vaccines, the incidence of herpes zoster has significantly declined. However, conversely, extensive replication of the herpes zoster virus may be based on a decline in the bodys immunity, triggering the disease and causing local skin lesions and discomfort along the nerve distribution, often following the intercostal nerves. However, herpes zoster infection along the local obturator nerve, affecting the knee joint and medial thigh, is relatively rare in clinical practice. Here, we report a case of such a patient.
