Abstract: Based on the Xuanfu Theory in Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM), this article explores the mechanism of emotional factors in the onset and exacerbation of Sj?grens Syndrome (SS) and proposes corresponding treatment strategies. The study suggests that the core pathogenesis of emotion-related SS involves emotional distress leading to liver dysfunction in smoothing Qi, resulting in Qi stagnation, which further causes microscopic occlusion of the Xuanfu and disrupts body fluid distribution. The essence of this condition is not a deficiency of fluid, but a blockage in its pathway. In response to the limited efficacy of traditional moisturizing therapies alone, the study proposes resolving stagnation and opening Xuanfu as the fundamental treatment principle. A four-step strategy—boosting energy, unblocking portals, clearing pathways, and replenishing sources—is established, emphasizing the combination of soothing the liver and regulating Qi, opening the Xuanfu, and nourishing Yin to promote fluid production. This approach aims to restore normal fluid distribution. A clinical case is provided to support the effectiveness of this strategy, offering new theoretical and practical insights for the TCM diagnosis and treatment of emotion-related SS.
