Abstract: Metabolic syndrome refers to the underlying mechanism of insulin resistance to the increase of insulin resistance, the body with obesity, hyperlipidemia, hypertension, hyperglycemia as the main manifestations of various metabolic disorders. Serum creatinine to cystatin C ratio is a valid measure of relative muscle mass markers in patients with diseases such as chronic obstructive pulmonary disease, idiopathic pulmonary fibrosis, gastric cancer, and sarcopies. Insulin resistance interacts with reduced muscle mass, and promotes each other. This review summarizes the correlation between creatinine and cystatin C ratio and metabolic syndrome and its related diseases.
