Study on the Relationship Between International Collaboration Papers and Academic Impact in Global Health — A Case Study of the Chinese Consortium of Universities for Global Health

• 摘要：目的：以中国全球健康大学联盟（Chinese Consortium of Universities for Global Health, CCUGH）高校为例，探究中国全球卫生国际合作论文与学术影响力的关系，为促进中国高校开展全球卫生国际科研合作、提升学术影响力提供参考。方法：以CCUGH的31所成员高校在2014—2024年发表的全球卫生期刊论文为对象，用Excel进行统计分析，R4.3.1对国际合作论文与学术影响力的关系、合作广度与学术影响力的相关性分别进行回归分析和卡方检验。结果：2014—2024年总发文量逐年增加，年均增长率为69.0%，其非国际合作论文发文量逐年增加，年均发文量为65篇，国际合作论文发文量波动上升，年均发文量为33篇。论文国际合作对学术影响力有正向作用，且合作广度越大，学术影响力越高。结论：CCUGH高校全球卫生发文量稳步增加，但国际合作论文及占比仍较低。高校有必要加强国际科研合作、提高学术影响力，促进中国全球卫生研究的发展。

  Abstract: Objective: To explore the relationship between international collaboration papers and academic impact in global health, using the member universities of the Chinese Consortium of Universities for Global Health (CCUGH) as a case study. The aim is to provide insights for enhancing international research collaboration in the global health field among Chinese universities and improving the academic impact of their publications. Methods: A total of 31 CCUGH member universities global health journal articles published between 2014 and 2024 were analyzed. Statistical analysis was conducted using Excel, while regression analysis and chi-square tests in R 4.3.1 were employed to examine (1) the association between internationally co-authored papers and academic impact, and (2) the correlation between collaboration breadth and academic influence. Results: From 2014 to 2024, the annual publication output demonstrated a consistent upward trend, with an average growth rate of 69.0%. Non-internationally collaborative publications increased steadily, averaging 65 articles annually, while internationally collaborative publications exhibited fluctuating growth, averaging 33 articles per year. International collaboration positively influenced academic impact, with broader collaborative networks correlating with higher academic influence. Conclusion: Although CCUGH universities have achieved steady growth in global health publications, the proportion of internationally collaborative papers remains relatively low. To advance Chinas global health research, institutions should prioritize strengthening international research partnerships to enhance academic impact.
