Abstract: Neurodevelopmental Disorders (NDDs) are a group of chronic developmental brain dysfunction disorders mainly characterized by cognitive, motor, social adaptive ability and behavioral disorders, and their etiology is complex and involves multiple factors such as genetics and environment. In recent years, the prevalence of NDDs has been on the rise, and early diagnosis and intervention are crucial for improving prognosis. As a noninvasive magnetic resonance imaging technique, diffusion tensor imaging (DTI) can quantitatively assess the integrity of cerebral white matter fiber bundles, the degree of myelination, and microstructural changes, providing an important tool for the diagnosis and pathogenesis of NDDs. This article reviews the imaging principle of DTI and its application progress in NDDs, aiming to provide reference for early clinical identification, diagnosis and treatment.
