Abstract: Breast cancer is one of the major malignant tumors threatening women''s health. With the increasing popularity of breast-conserving surgery and rising patient demands for aesthetic outcomes, oncoplastic breast-conserving surgery (OBCS) has played a significant role in improving postoperative breast appearance through volume displacement and volume replacement. However, volume displacement relies heavily on the amount of residual breast tissue, while volume replacement increases surgical complexity and risks of donor site injury. Therefore, achieving minimally invasive and stable repair of breast defects remains an area warranting further exploration. In recent years, advances in tissue engineering materials and 3D printing have offered new perspectives for personalized reconstruction of post-lumpectomy cavities. This review summarizes current OBCS strategies, safety considerations, recent developments in tissue engineering, and challenges facing clinical translation, aiming to provide insights for clinical practice and future research.
