Abstract: Objective: To establish a multi-level measurement method for research focus among scientists in chronic disease prevention and control, evaluating three dimensions—research topic concentration, alignment between individuals and team directions, and alignment between individuals and institutional positioning—to provide methodological support for talent classification management and team optimization in chronic disease prevention research institutions. Methods: Taking a cardiovascular disease research institution as an example, data on 1,900 research achievements from 76 researchers were collected. A classification system covering 15 cardiovascular research directions was constructed, employing a dual-convergence annotation method combining weighted automatic classification via directional dictionaries and semantic consistency manual review. A concentration index was introduced to measure individual research topic concentration, and a Thematic Consistency Stratification (TCS) model was developed to categorize achievements into three levels: T1 (team direction layer), T2 (interdisciplinary layer), and T3 (direction deviation layer), analyzing focus characteristics and team disparities. Results: Among the 76 researchers, 59.2% exhibited high concentration (CR3≥0.8), 25.0% showed moderate concentration, and 15.8% displayed low concentration. Across the institution’s achievements, T1 (team direction layer) accounted for 53.6%, T2 (interdisciplinary layer) for 42.9%, and T3 (direction deviation layer) for 3.5%. Significant disparities were identified in individual-team alignment, revealing relatively underdeveloped areas such as arrhythmia and cardiovascular artificial intelligence. Six researchers exceeded the 10% threshold in T3 (direction deviation layer), with three classified as high-risk (exceeding 20%). Conclusion: This method effectively identifies the distribution characteristics of research directions among chronic disease prevention scientists, assesses individual-team alignment, and evaluates deviations from institutional development goals, providing quantifiable decision-making support for differentiated talent management, research team optimization, and resource allocation in major specialized projects within the field of chronic disease prevention.
