Research Progress of Hydration in Preventing Contrast-Induced Acute Kidney Injury

    Abstract: Contrast-induced acute kidney injury (CI-AKI) is one of the three major causes of iatrogenic renal injury in clinical practice, with a significantly increased incidence in patients with risk factors, particularly high-risk populations. There is currently no effective treatment for CI-AKI, and hydration remains the cornerstone of prevention. However, the optimal hydration methods including the route, timing, dosage, and infusion rate remain unclear. This article reviews the hydration regimens for CI-AKI, aiming to provide insights for formulating clinical hydration protocols.
