Abstract: The theory of Heart-Gallbladder Interconnection originates from the Theory of Visceral Interconnection, revealing the close relationship between the heart and gallbladder in both physiology and pathology. Physiologically, the heart governing mental activities and the gallbladder controlling decision-making jointly regulate consciousness, with the monarch fire (heart) and ministerial fire (gallbladder) working synergistically, connected through the ocular system and pericardium meridians. Pathologically, bidirectional transmission occurs: heart disease may affect the gallbladder, while gallbladder disorders often disturb heart function, clinically manifesting as palpitations and hypochondriac pain. Modern research has confirmed its scientific basis, including the gallbladder-heart reflex pathway, high comorbidity between gallbladder and cardiovascular diseases, and established causal relationships in gallbladder-heart syndrome. Clinical applications demonstrate the theorys value: Wendan Decoction treats depression, coronary heart disease, and schizophrenia; Gualou Xiebai Banxia Decoction effectively manages chronic cholecystitis. This theory not only enriches TCM visceral manifestation theory but also provides new perspectives for modern medicine with its holistic approach, holding significant theoretical and clinical value.
