Abstract: Premature ovarian insufficiency (POI) is a common gynecological condition. Traditional Chinese medicine (TCM) has unique advantages in treating POI. Xie Chunhong believes that the pathogenesis of premature ovarian insufficiency is rooted in kidney essence deficiency, marked by liver qi stagnation, and pivoted by spleen qi weakness. In treatment, the core therapeutic principle is established as tonify the kidney and replenish essence as the foundation, soothe the liver and relieve depression as the method, and strengthen the spleen and boost qi as the pivot. This is flexibly combined with external therapies such as acupuncture and acupoint application to stimulate meridian qi and harmonize qi and blood, while also emphasizing treatment for both body and mind, paying attention to lifestyle adjustments and emotional counseling, which has shown remarkable efficacy in clinical practice.
