Abstract: Chronic hepatitis B (CHB) has a heavy global disease burden. Although China has reduced the infection rate through measures such as neonatal vaccination, there is still a significant gap between achieving the goal of Healthy China 2030 to completely eliminate viral hepatitis. Currently, achieving clinical cure is the ideal treatment endpoint that can be achieved. The optimized combination of interferon (IFN) and nucleoside analogues (NAs) significantly improved the clinical cure rate, but individual differences remained significant. The development of traditional Chinese medicine constitution theory provides new ideas for individualized treatment of CHB. The theory of traditional Chinese medicine constitution holds that the human body is divided into nine types of constitution, including peaceful constitution, qi deficiency constitution, and damp heat constitution. Different constitutions have significant differences in susceptibility and transmission of diseases. Therefore, this article discusses the development and application of TCM constitution theory by systematically analyzing the treatment progress of IFN combined with NAs and the continuous development of chronic hepatitis B treatment goals. Summarize the application value of traditional Chinese medicine constitution theory in individualized treatment of CHB, explain the relationship between clinical cure of chronic hepatitis B and traditional Chinese medicine constitution, and provide reference for the integrated treatment of CHB patients with traditional Chinese and Western medicine.

Key words: Chronic hepatitis B, TCM constitution, interferon, clinical cure.
