Abstract: This article focuses on exploring the relevant content of the narrow sense of sores and ulcers in Compendium of Acupuncture and Moxibustion. The onset characteristics of sores and ulcers are mostly characterized by intense heat and fire, occurring on the body surface, and often developing in yang positions such as the head, face, and back. In terms of selecting acupoints for the treatment of sores and ulcers, Yang attached great importance to the principle of local acupoint selection of taking the painful point as the acupoint. For distant acupoint selection, acupoints of yang meridians such as the Large Intestine Meridian of Hand-Yangming and the Bladder Meridian of Foot-Taiyang were mostly chosen. He also attached great importance to the application of the special-effect acupoint Qizhuma Acupoint. In the selection of acupuncture and moxibustion methods, particular emphasis was placed on stage-based treatment. In the initial stage of sores and ulcers, garlic-separated moxibustion was mostly used to promote the discharge of pus, and the earlier the better. In the middle stage, acupuncture was mostly applied. First, the depth was determined according to the size of the lesion, and then the needle tools (Pi needle, Sanleng needle, fire needle) were selected according to the depth of the lesion site. In the final stage, medicine-cake-separated moxibustion was chosen to remove the necrotic tissue and promote tissue regeneration. In addition, Compendium of Acupuncture and Moxibustion also recorded the preventive measures for neonatal sores and ulcers, which is in line with the traditional Chinese medicine ideology of preventive treatment of disease. Through the induction and analysis of these contents, this article explores Yangs experience in treating sores and ulcers with acupuncture and moxibustion, summarizes the stage characteristics of the application of acupoint selection and acupuncture and moxibustion methods, in the hope of providing experience sharing for the clinical treatment and prevention of narrow sense of sores and ulcers.
