  Abstract: Dysmenorrhea due to endometriosis (EMs) is a common and refractory disease in clinical practice. Traditional Chinese medicine (TCM) has unique advantages and rich experience in treating dysmenorrhea caused by EMs. Professor Cong Huifang, a well-known expert in the field of TCM gynecology, has accumulated abundant clinical experience in treating EMs-related dysmenorrhea and has formed unique diagnostic and treatment ideas and methods. Professor Cong Huifang proposed the pathogenesis of insufficient congenital Mingmen fire, the combination of cold and blood stasis in the uterine cavity, liver qi stagnation, poor circulation of qi and blood in the meridians, transformation of stagnation into fire, disorder of the heart meridian, and loss of control of the mind, as well as her experienced prescriptions and medications. This article summarizes Professor Cong Huifangs theory and medication experience in treating dysmenorrhea caused by endometriosis, providing new ideas for the syndrome differentiation and treatment of this disease.
