Abstract: Shoulder rotator cuff injury refers to damage to the tendons surrounding the shoulder joint, which falls into the category of tendon injury in traditional Chinese medicine (TCM). Currently, arthroscopic rotator cuff repair (ARCR) has become the primary surgical method for treating rotator cuff tears. However, achieving accurate and effective rehabilitation after surgery remains a challenge. The TCM theoretical system plays a significant role in guiding postoperative rehabilitation, as the rehabilitation process following ARCR involves the evolution of TCMs five-body pathogenesis. Based on the Yellow Emperors Inner Classic and building upon the foundation of the five-body theory, the author, for the first time, proposes the rehabilitation principle of concurrent treatment of the five bodies and elucidates the close connection between the five-body theory and postoperative rehabilitation after ARCR. The proposal of the concurrent treatment of the five bodies principle aims to provide guidance for clinical rehabilitation after ARCR.
