The intraocular pressure lowering effects of ROCK inhibitor: the current concepts and perspectives

• 摘要：青光眼会导致不可逆转的视力丧失，病理性眼压增高是其主要危险因素。降眼压是治疗青光眼的有效措施。目前降眼压主要通过药物、激光及手术。虽然激光和微创青光眼手术都取得了长足进步，但药物治疗仍然是首选的治疗方式。近年来，随着人们对Rho/Rho激酶通路在调节小梁网房水外引流作用的认识逐渐深刻，Rho激酶抑制剂作为新型抗青光眼药物得到了越来越多的关注。本文总结了迄今为止新型抗青光眼药物ROCK抑制剂的研究现状。

  Abstract: Glaucoma causes irreversible blindness worldwide. High intraocular pressure (IOP) is its main risk factor. Lowering IOP strategies, including medication, laser, or surgery, can delay the process of glaucomatous optic nerve injury. Currently, glaucoma medication is still the first line non-invasive treatment. In recent decades, with the understanding of the Rho/Rho kinase signaling pathway in regulation of aqueous outflow from trabecular meshwork, Rho kinase (ROCK) inhibitors have attracted more attentions as novel anti-glaucoma candidates. The purpose of this review is to summarize the current concepts of ROCK inhibitors, a novel target for glaucoma therapy.
